I'd be interested to know the history of the car - it's unlikely to be an original given what's left of them (restored or otherwise) so $600k seems, at best, only if someone rich wants to help the charity (and I hope someone does!).

As much as I love the DeLorean, and the BTTF films, if I'd had unlimited funds I'd have bid on the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which was lovingly maintained by Pierre Picton from when the film was made until it sold last year.

The DeLorean is famous and recognised, but I'd suggest not as much as Chitty... and Chitty made less than $500k, but had been touted at "offers over £1m".

Seems at odds with the way Universal has been treating the cars on the backlot tour all these years :?

I tend to agree with John on this, realistically 600k :roll: :roll: Probably wont even get near half of that.
