I'm an idiot, but when he's saying electroplating, does he mean powder coating?
that's a similar process, though, right?

could someone with some chemicals and a belt sander (im joking) remove this paint? something tells me that it wouldn't be as easy as 'normal' paint to remove.
Dave.

seen worse paint jobs then that on a D........
Prob worth more then $10k (£5k) in parts

I've got a bottle of nitromors, so I'll bagsie the NSF wing
Could be a cheap project car for one of the folks on here? Mebbe speak to Darren at Grady's about importing it cheaply? And Chris would be the person to speak to about stripping the paint off - if it was an 'original dealership' paint job tho, one would hope the stainless would be in pretty good order underneath.

might e-mail em about a title and if he'd go as low as $5000 (allthough I'm probably taking the p**s) eheh.
'quick sale' apparently. plus this is the second time it's been on ebay.

Basically the stainless was anodised, yeah. Its such a shame that D's can get into this state!

You cant adodise Stainless steel, only aluminium. It just been painted, probably ment "electrostaticly" charged paint. It would be a nightmare to strip off. All painted cars I have heard about have had body damage underneath. In my opinion $10K is way too much for what is a basically a major restoration. Just my 2p.

Wow Chris I didn't know that! I knew you could do it to Alu, was part of a science lesson once. I just took it you could do it to nearly any metal, apart from, say, potassium, now that would be a large explosion haha!

thanks guys.
the driver's side doesn't seem to feature in the photos. makes me think that there might be something hiding on that side, too.
thanks Chris, i know that some painted cars have secrets.
the title is clear, apparently.
