2456 and 2835 update
#1
After delays with funds transfers and easter holidays the two cars are in New Jersey awaiting shipment to Dublin. I have rented a 1500 square feet workshop to store and restore the cars at Stoneyford, Co Antrim. Heres hoping they are on their way soon.

2456 will be getting treated to a body off restoration of the frame while 2835 wil initially get basic mechanical repairs followed by body off frame restoration once 2456 is complete. My plan is to have both frames repaired, galvanised and powder coated.

be careful with the frames, I have heard of cars' frames 'twisting' Shock

Have a word with DOC Forum user 'Bandit', he's doing a body off frame resto
on his car at the moment and will be able to give you some good tips.

I have received advice from dmcjohn on the delorean.ie forums. His advice is to send the frames to Ed Uding to be stripped in a vacuum furnace, repaired and then galvanised.

If you go to www.delorean.ie->homepage ->Technical section ->John Dore's Restoration, you will see the problems he encountered with sandblasting and chemical stripping.

I think it is a job that is a must as you will see where he removed plates on the box section to reveal the epoxy sitting in sheets inside and rust, while from the outside the frame looked fine in these parts.

There is also a section in the forum where he researched and compared the available methods of repair.
