If it's the DeLorean with the wheels like that I'm sure an owner in Ireland has a BTTF version done like that with the lifting wheels (for the life of me cant remember who) I have seen the pictures though and it is very good. Seems a long way to bring the car mind, must be paying well!

The car is a Bruce Coulombe conversion and the new owner has been posting on this very forum, so you don't have to look far

Looks good Luke, but could I make a suggestion?
Since you can see the wheels still on the ground (under the fake horizontal wheels) why don't you use a little Star Wars trickery.... In 77 when they made Star Wars they used angled mirrors under the landrover chassis that they made Luke Skywalkers Landspeeder from, to reflect the surroundings and hide the wheels to make it look like it was hovering. If you get 4 small mirrors (the size of the visible wheel, under your fake hover wheel) and set them at 30-45 degrees or even vertical if you have little space, they will just show tarmac/floor surface and give a truly awesome hover effect. ![]()

Darren C Wrote:Looks good Luke, but could I make a suggestion? You sure can Darren, and suggestion definitely taken onboard. He has unfortunately made the rear hover wheels a little too high compared to the fronts. I just need to redrill into the brackets and move them lower to the ground to cover the real wheels more. Setup times with those wheels are long enough when up at silly times in the morning! ![]()

bttf car Wrote:I Like the idea of these but i looked myself at adding them to my car, 2 things that worried me about them. 1st how do you transport them and how did they come over with the car. A delorean has very little room as it is, your Delorean has lots of stuff under the bonnet. Transporting them, easy. Two in the passenger seat, two in the bonnet. Brackets and wheels are seperate. All this has been thought of, as with everything else on the car. Over 20 relays and everything is individually fused so things can be disabled and the show can go on. A lot of thought has been put into the electrical system including waterproofing and diagrams etc. The car is always behind a barrier so nobody can do that. If they let their kids do that, they will need to make sure they have a nice fresh cheque ready..

bttf car Wrote:You will surprised how barriers dont work or events do not want them as they are hiring the car for people to stand with, as for asking them to pay, not a chance, hiring out the car you need additional insurance and PLI. They will not repect your car but think they Know everything about it. I come across it all the time, ive had someone jump on the bonnet, a very drunk lady stand on the driver seat with very high thin heals, children pull on the cables on the flux boxes, even a dog cock its leg on the tire, maybe he wasnt a BTTF Fan. thats disgusting, but sadly from experience of doing shows for 10yrs now with 'normal' DeLorean's the lack of respect towards our property by some members of the public is quite exasperating at times.

You won't get a vintage Rolls for that Steve
When you quote for wedding's you always get the time wasters, the "I can get a taxi for £20 mate" or the "How much? its only 2 miles from the church to reception" Sadly you will find it goes with the territory, whenever you offer a public service it's open to abuse. Just laugh it off.
