What is your experience of the dmch clutch kits?
My car had a dmch clutch kit, master and slave cyl's and stainless braided clutch line which were all new back in 2007, and i'd say it's pretty hard to press down. It makes the clutch on my workmates Porsche 944 seem feather light in comparison.

I'm not sure I've had any - if I have, I didn't know it. I've changed out a lot of clutches and always fit whatever's cheapest from the local motor factors or Renault - they're all the same late Valeo clutches these days.
Are DMC selling 1981 era clutch pressure plates?

I have no idea to be honest.
This is the pressure plate that comes with the kit and is listed as a "replacement part" not "nos"

My friends 944 S2 clutch pedal (new clutch <500 miles ago) feels the same to my clutch - I think my car has a Renault 25 turbo clutch fitted.

That's interesting. My friends is also an S2, but his while his clutch does have some weight in it, it's nothing compared to the clutch on my car.

The 25 turbo clutch is heavier than the standard unit and it certainly looks like a standard modern unit on DMC's website.

anyway.....
so this car is curently owned by ChutneyQuimLicker, and having looked at the few posts of his on here, id be interested to hear what people have talked to him about with regards to it, and if anyone knows why hes decided to sell it, im still VERY interested but i dont want to end up with an expensive brick, or a D' thats been all over and never fixed..... for SOME reason...

I think it comes down to the fact that its automatic, painted, and doesnt run and there probably arent too many people out there at the minute wanting to get into a project like that (that probably will cost the asking price again to put reasonably right).

None of us can tell you whether you should buy it. People like Thomas and I will be talking from the perspective of knowing what to expect with experience of the work that'll be required.
For a couple of grand more you could get an unpainted manual car with a good chassis in from the US (probably). You then have to register it, but that's really not such a big deal.
If the car were a 5-speed already I'd be seriously interested myself because I've always fancied a black one.
