Right first time - Give the man a blue Peter badge!
Would be an interesting statistic if HM Govt is storing MOT results against Manufacturer anywhere - one might suspect a skew towards handbrake-related issues against DMC! (Or it's most probably 'Other' in ther drop-down lists!!) So, This week, I shall be mostly fixing my handbrake AGAIN! It's amazing that they're SO sh*t, given that they only have the same basic components and function as any other disc-operated handbrake system - Ratchet, cable, and a thing that causes one thing to grip another thing, increasingly tightly!

The problem is the mechanism that's meant to ratchet -in- to take up wear in the pads actually slips and causes the lever to apparently loosen over time. Adjust handbrake an ddon't use it till you'r eont eh rollers
Also had trouble in the past with cheap pads, after all the handbrake pads never really get a chance to bed in.

I cant believe that the same MOT tester that failed Flopsy's handbrake (that
will hold on the hill outside RichH's house), passed one of our Cavalier's handbrake - and that wouldnt hold on a hill!! WTF?
