Mike, the Roger Moore thing is about the eyebrows. Roger is famous for raising an eyebrow to represent his emotion. Look at the DeLorean I mentioned and it too has the Roger Moore thing going on.... hence doing a Roger Moore...
Incidentally, the polyurethane fascias warp due to heat (high beams and/or sunlight). The eyebrow effect can be fixed by a sturdy metal bar. This can also be used on the DeLorean  Please note, I am a BIG fan of Roger and without starting a 'who is the best of the 6 Bond actors?' thread it is Sean/Roger (neck and neck), (lots of Bond movies between them), Pierce (4), Dan (1 so far), Timothy (2), George (1 movie)! Rog can also take the mick out of himself, see Cannonball Run (the only time he drives a DB5). Pierce then did something similar with the slightly more serious 'The Matador' as a way of sticking two fingers up at the Bond people for just apparently dropping him during negotiations for his fifth Bond movie. I have recently heard that Pierce was dropped because Casino Royale being Flemings first Bond novel could not have re-used the current experienced Bond to play a new 007 having just joined the Secret Service. Brosnan had already done four films as an older Bond. This therefore meant they needed a new, younger version to pull off the new 'first' Bond movie. Despite this they have yet again recast Judi Dench as 'M' who is the only cast member reused from a previous Bond movie...

I've never really been a great fan of the Bond series, until i saw the latest one on Saturday. This one is the best one by far imo.
Judging by the live action scenes there is no way Brosnan could have carried these off, definatley gone back to basics with this one.

The only thing i didnt 'understand' was the use of 'modern' cars and laptops etc etc seeing as this was supposed to be a film set at the time where Bond had just got his 007 status. Or maybe im missing something.... Nice to see the DB5 again

Having not seen seen CR I guess that the story has been set modern day to not alienate young audiences. Modern day means more £££ for the film makers as it gave Aston a chance to promote their newest car and Sony their laptop's etc. Maybe the film is just one über long advert for product placements just like most movies these days.

Yes every other shot was Sony phone, Sony Laptop..... Aston Martin DBS... what a hell of a car, but without spoiling the film, i wonder what it cost them on a '£ per second' basis Still bemused by Fords involvment in the film at all...??? Speaking to someone who went to a multiplex near Lincoln on Saturday afternoon, Ten screens all showing the Bond film and every showing that day fully booked... not a happy chappie... |
