New tax rules
#1
We are planning to come back from holiday on Wednesday 1st October and collect our new car - the same day the tax rules change. Am I right in thinking that we will need to tax the vehicle, even though it presently has four months tax on the screen? I think the tax becomes invalid on change of ownership under the new rules.

Good one!

First day of change. I'd think you're right, unfortunately. Might be worth a check with the DVLA and see if you can wangle something. If you don't ask, you don't get. Otherwise, can you not "pick up the car" on the 30th?

just date the change of ownership on the V5C as September I would have thought would
be the easiest way round it, regardless of what physical day you pick the car up Wink
