Volvo 740 Handbrake Linkage...

Hi everybody! As some of you may know I have a 1989 Volvo 740 GLE Estate that I purchased for a 10 day road trip around France, we leave 1st August. Only real problem is the handbrake. The linkage may as well not exist and I have tried everywhere to try and find the part but it's simply not available. The ONLY place I haven't tried is a Volvo main dealer. Failing that, does anybody have any ideas or thoughts to where I can get hold of one?

Its basically the part that links the main handbrake cable to the two cables that actuate the handbrake calipers - you could say the linkage is the 'middle man' to putting the handbrake on.

Have you tried any Volvo breakers/scrap yards?

Theres one breakers yard that has an old White 740 Estate, probably a good place to see if it has the linkage... although they are quite pricey, we'll have to see - thats the only reason ive not gone there yet.
