All the best to Rob on his future car from PJ Grady. i've also booked mine in with them to get me to MOT, as i'm struggling to get there with kids etc!, so hopefull may be driving at the end of year. - MikeH - 19 Oct 2007 wow congrats phil, Will be cool to see it being driven sometime in the future. - Carl Hammond - 23 Oct 2007 Hi Phil, Well done, I'm really chuffed for you buddy. Another fitting story to go into club history along with the discovery of 'Dusty' restoration of Pilot 20 etc.. Every club has it's fairytale stories and this is another, I think it's inspiring for prospective owners and future club members... I remember back in June at Eurotec we were discussing our dream cars who would have thought it would happen so soon for us both! As they say, if it's meant to be, it's meant to be... The car looks stunning by the way and that's just from photo's, can't wait to see it for real. Congrats again Phil and enjoy your dream car!!! - Chris Hawes - 23 Oct 2007 Who did buy Dusty from Chris, are the new owners part of the club? Geographically, does anyone know where Dusty is now? - Carl Hammond - 23 Oct 2007 Isn't the car in Ireland now? or am I getting my wires crossed! :? - Phil Peters - 23 Oct 2007 Thanks for all the kind words guys A big thanks to Andy Withers who told me "You'll get it one day" and that it would probably happen just when I was least expecting it. You were right Andy  I know he probably won't ever read this but Dave Howarth also deserves massive thanks for keeping me motivated over the years. His stories about waiting to buy his DeLoreans were always an inspiration and made me realise that if you want something enough sometimes you've just got to be prepared to wait. Dave also gave me my first three "clues" which enabled me to track the car's owner down several years ago. Thanks Dave!! - Phil Peters - 23 Oct 2007 Chris Hawes Wrote:Geographically, does anyone know where Dusty is now? Sitting in Ian Foster's garage I believe. - Phil Peters - 23 Oct 2007 Here's a shot of Ian and Dusty from the Club website: - Chris Hawes - 23 Oct 2007 Curiousity now satisfied, thanks Phil! - Chris Hawes - 23 Oct 2007 Phil, will your car be coming to the NEC? - Barson - 23 Oct 2007 Phil Peters Wrote:Chris Hawes Wrote:Geographically, does anyone know where Dusty is now? must have more than 4 miles on it now.... - Outatime - 23 Oct 2007 Barson Wrote:Phil Peters Wrote:Chris Hawes Wrote:Geographically, does anyone know where Dusty is now? Ian goes home now and then.... so maybe slightly more than that  - JohnC - 23 Oct 2007 Phil. I am really pleased for you, obviously a very worthy follow-up to 4400. Is there a story behind the 'SPY 100' plate? I'll wait if this information is in a forthcoming article ;-) John C - Phil Peters - 23 Oct 2007 Chris Hawes Wrote:Phil, will your car be coming to the NEC? I haven't got any plans to bring it to the NEC this year Chris. Chris put it on the stand in 2005 though. I for one am looking forward to seeing P20 on the stand in all its glory this year. By the time the NEC comes around VIN# 12173 will probably, as is traditional, be in several hundred small pieces in the garage. |
