Errr.... an interesting project car for $18,750 NO pics of chassis etc as yet: https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1981-delorean-dmc-c-10846.htm

There is an awful lot of work with just what you CAN  see....interior, tee bar door tops windscreen sun visors etc. etc, one for the brave I think. Looking at its general condition, I'd be surprised if the chassis was bad...but who can tell?

Hi All
i actually like the look of this one (not literally), however i currently have 5222 taking up my time.

as you say no one can buy without frame pics, but the stainless looks good.

original fuel lines so engine needs an update...

the interior, seats look good, and i think a new carpets and headliner refurb for starter would improve it!. then the dash, wheel and dash pads.
yes some cash, but most of it is there...and to be honest virtually all projects D's are going to need headliners and most seat leather.

then as a temporary could spray the rest grey, until afford to do it properly, or give it to Lee Patison to sort.

money on it not too bad (if good frame), i would be offering say 3k less and see what they say.

in fairness to BHCC, i have always had good communication with them, tons of photos, found them open to offers, and i reckon you pays your money and at least a car would turn up back in the UK.....

then again i am a bit mad!. if i had a spare 15k or so i would be tempted at a second project....and no work in getting darn red paint off everything...even behind license plate on mine!.

Steve

[attachment=765]I agree Steve..removing red paint...or any other colour is a horrible job. Is was bad enough on Flashy, and that was clear lacquer.

Speaking of Red paint......BHCC have loads of other nice cars, I've never looked before...including several lovely old RED MG's...one would make a smashing garage friend to my new MG EV.......the prices are right too!

We had a small  temporary  "flock" of MG's at my house recently........

(12 Mar 2020, 08:19)Hiyes thought the paint would be easier to remove...it comes of little by little, layer at a time.....and some driver panel damage too!.Chris i checked the tank today, think the screw has dissolved..do you still stock any nos tanks?. i had one of you about 12 years ago!!thank youChris P Wrote: I agree Steve..removing red paint...or any other colour is a horrible job. Hi Steve,

I only have a couple left, but you can have one, as your need is greater than mine. You'll have to collect it though, I wouldn't know how to try and wrap it up!

I ended up re-using my old one on MGJ, as the stud was OK and it cleaned nicely inside and out and it also saved  me having to re-glue all the padding back on!

Thank you, would you like to pm me with a price please.

collection no problem as i live staffordshire.

i remember doing 1621....the old tank smelled pretty rancid....i can still remember the smell....14 year old petrol and dissolving rubber.

i did not want to drop the tank in 5222, as i just need it mobile....but have little choice to do it properly.

the filler is rusty and of course all the screws to get the filler neck off are rusty, some with virtually no heads.

Thank you

Regards

Steve

Photos have been updated and show alot more of the car such as a odd black mark on passenger door, warped t pannel and possible doors aren't aligned possibly and a very bizzare white mark on drivers rear pannel near door (possibly filler or not been regrained), frame looks solid with only dirt and some surface rust.

BAE Turbo Project car @ $26,500 https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1981-delorean-dmc-c-12477.htm

Another IMHO overpriced @ $39,950 going by the chassis and some strange additions, inc moving the fuel filter (whats that in the trunk??) https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1981-delorean-dmc-c-12367.htm

Think it's a screen wash bottle?

Wish my fuel filter was in that location - it would make it much easier to change!

Ah yes your right, on closer inspection the original hole has been blanked off.
