Yes its http://www.deloreans.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=655 - Barson - 26 Sep 2007 this is the connector i was talking about: looks to me like a side light holder. - Barson - 26 Sep 2007 because it is. wonder if it'll fit in the brackets at the back.....hmm - bozzzydmc - 26 Sep 2007 I think its the fitting it in thats the problem .... maybe take a look and let us know - Chris Williams - 26 Sep 2007 Barson Wrote:because it is. I threw mine away and stuck a bit of shaped Stainless steel over the hole! Chris - stevie67cars - 26 Sep 2007 Barson, The hella lamps pictured will fit as these are exactly the ones which are fitted to my car. They do however require modification of the buckets and also as I recall the inner headlamp brackets themselves. This didn't matter to me as I was having mine sandblasted and powdercoated anyway. It's a bit of work- I did all of mine in an evening with a selection of files, a 1mm cutting disc for a 4" grinder and some patience. It's a matter of preference really, but I preffered matching Hella lamps and was replacing all 4 anyway- I prefer the look of them to the Halo ones but thats probably just me. I think they are more original looking. Here is a recent picture of them installed-best front pic I have.(watermark is because a newspaper photographer took pic and I have to buy it from him if I want it) Let me know if you want them and I can hunt out the part numbers for the matching inner lamps (main beams) Stephen #10213 - Barson - 01 Oct 2007 hihihihi. removed my outers tonight. the buckets are in decent enough nick. little rust and a small wasp nest on the driver side. I tested the new hellas in the buckets. i can see myself how much they don't fit I'm going to cut me a hole and try and get these blasted and powder coated. stevie, dude, where'd you powder coat yours? was it a local supplier? Dave. - stevie67cars - 01 Oct 2007 Hi Dave, Crap, sorry- I was supposed to get back to you, been crazy busy. Yeah, I sand blasted them myself and had a local crowd powder coat them; it cost pittance- around 20 euro from what I remember. All I can advise you is take your time with them and dont cut too much away at a time. The 1mm cutting disc is a deadly job and finish them off nice with a few different files. Drop me a pm if you have any other questions. Stephen #10213 - Barson - 12 Oct 2007 if anyone's interested, I've got the side lights wired up and running: the new harness: the taps: i took the opportunity to, whilst i was in there, to modify the ground on the front side fender to give me a flashing side fender. all works! - bozzzydmc - 12 Oct 2007 Well Done matey !! ( Just one thing ... get shut of those scotch locks before NickT sees them ... they cause all sorts of problems ) - Guinney1971 - 12 Oct 2007 fecking scotchlocks............... the cause of my 'intermittent' side lights.... grrrr...... bloody things should be banned. Soldering properly and sealing with heatshrink is much better and also looks better (IMHO  ) - NickT - 14 Oct 2007 Nooooooooooooo, not scotchlocks ! NickT - bozzzydmc - 14 Oct 2007 ..oh dear ...He has seen them ! - Barson - 14 Oct 2007 calm down dear, it's just a screw up. i re-did it all with solder and patience yesterday morning. all works! pain in the rear with my weedy 25w iron :/ (maybe it's just me) - bozzzydmc - 14 Oct 2007 LOL Good work matey. |
