I think you will find, most companies, even today do not buy any overalls for workers. They are 'leased' as it were from the suppliers, who then clean ,repair & replace them as required.

I was found a set of overalls hidden in the storage compartment under the hood when I bought my car, the guy who wore them in the factory had the same surname as me....freeky
