Re: DeLoreans wanted for major TV production, 14th December 2013 - RobScott - 24 Apr 2014 i think its safe to say, any program with that 'bernie' guy, is sure to be shite. Cant stand that man. Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - bjbrownie - 25 Apr 2014 I'll second that Rob, it's all a abat shouting and exasperation for tv effect-on the last episode they left a Fiat 500 ticking over while they cleared off for tea, surprise when an oil pressure switch leaks spraying oil over the exhaust manifold causing smoke-I don't think any self respecting mechanic would leave an engine idling unattended, let alone a newly rebuilt one where any thing could have worked loose-for crying out loud, the clowns couldn't even get the front seats in. :x Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - Darren C - 25 Apr 2014 I don't even know where to begin with this show, it's absolute trash. This weeks episode (the Fiat 500) opened with a voice over saying, what exotic Italian car would they be featuring, Ferrari, Lamborghini or Bugatti? WTF Bugatti is FRENCH Even the voice over is wrong. Shoddy work, shoddy results, shoddy voice over, shoddy research, and just plain sh*te production. Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - Chris Williams - 25 Apr 2014 Quote:Shoddy work, shoddy results, shoddy voice over, shoddy research, and just plain sh*te production:lol:  But look on the bright side at least you get a chance to win the car at the end! But being serious they are doing a DeLorean soon so we will have a new DeLorean owner in the UK, as the saying goes it could be you  Chris Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - Chris Williams - 10 May 2014 Due to air 19th May 2014 at 7pm. Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - Chris P - 10 May 2014 Can't wait……………. ………. Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - lukebrynycz - 12 May 2014 Chris P Wrote:Can't wait……………. ………. The problem with these shows are, the producers don't usually know anything about the cars and just make stuff up rather than letting the experts of these cars take lead of it.. They should have handed over the detailed scripting to owners like yourself. Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - RobScott - 12 May 2014 well, these shows are made for the average dumbass council house dosser, with maybe one or two brain cells. You have got to keep them entertained with a bit of fake arguing and shite facts they can take down to the pub.... If it had real facts and true restoration, then they would just switch over to top gear, or other kinda car based program with staged crap in it. lol Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - lukebrynycz - 12 May 2014 Hahaha! True ![]() Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - Stuart Rees - 12 May 2014 RobScott Wrote:well, these shows are made for the average dumbass council house dosser, with maybe one or two brain cells. Couldn't Agree more with that statement! There's another show on the History channel at the mo that is a bit better than this one, called Ultimate Wheels based at the London Motor Museum and the first episode showed their RED Interior Delorean being used in a rap video. It broke down due to poor maintenance btw and of course that bit had to make it into the show! ![]() Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - Chris Williams - 19 May 2014 Well that wasn't as bad as expected. ![]() Chris Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - Darren C - 19 May 2014 What? Were you watching the same show? I'm so mad at this bunch of idiots I'm lost for words  As for the valuation, what kind of message does that send out! Roll on "for the love of cars" Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - Chris Williams - 19 May 2014  It was based on the other programmes they have done  Yes the galvanised frame bit, yes the golf cart quote and the very poor valuation but with this programme it could be worse! Everyone will be out looking for a 13k DeLorean now! Chris Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - stunned_monkey - 19 May 2014 Must admit, I was pleasantly surprised too. Given the context, it was never going to be perfect, but to a layman, the car was roundly praised once it was done. I was more frustrated with all the nonsense about the radiator and the fact that they never mentioned any delorean specialists, let alone DMC Houston... but oh good, it was all just an act. Also they didn't even try to "bargain" with Steve Wynne - guessing he wouldn't let them  Also an act was the overheat I reckon - it hissed for far too long and the engine would need head gaskets after an event that spectacular. The explanation about the doors was absolutely spot on, even if they did put the strut on upside down (but corrected it in time for the "valuation"!). Other bits I noticed were: Missing rad cowling oh-so-high ride height up front gearshift boot for crying out loud paint the number plate bezel ...and the front grill the wheels were not new, they were definitely DMC refurbs (even if they'd never been on a car). wheel nuts weren't original What did I miss? Re: 'Classic Car Rescue' TV Show on CH5 - RobScott - 19 May 2014 lol, ok a few bits were wrong, and what the heck were they trying to do with the rad? i guess it was just for entertainment - to make an argument? Wasnt as bad as I was expecting, cant be doing with that bernie though, so annoying! Not bad for a painted delorean, wish mine was just a front wing, ha ha. £13k valuation? lol |
