Having studied the photo's I've got a good feeling about it. As it will be stored fairly local to me, so am looking forward to a closer look at it. I've got a spare engine if it does need it...but I recon the old one will be fine. Wink

Not many around anywhere at that price Matt! You did well.

I've found the secret locations where Beverly Hills Car club sources its cars.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGRTkWH_-Bg

Ha. I remember many of them.

Totally going against form, BHCC has just listed another silver gullwing for $140k

Still "mechanically sound" though Smile

I do like the Merc's . Not too bad a price.

By my rough calculations this is their 100th car, and a fitting BHCC standard too - photos aren't on the website yet, but a few are floating about.$14750 for a bag of parts without a useable frame

https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1982-delorean-dmc-12--c-8727.htm

and 101:

much more atypical

Jeez that car needs some serious love to get her back to normal but I guess it would be an expensive restoration especially with it needing a new frame

Wow, well that is a frame and a half, well actually half a frame!

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole...

hi all

i would still consider this as projects are getting fewer and fewer.

of course the frame must be real bad...then again if any D has a fair amount of frame rust then it would still need a new frame this bad or not.

i have messaged them for pics and also interior....i do wonder if this has been in a flood?.

unlike mk1 escorts and others, generally the panels will be okay and the resin body. if interior is not too bad then can be re-coloured etc.

we all know this D is going to be worth only a little under that in parts too...

to make it viable you would need to be patient and wait for 2nd hand parts...

i''ll let you know if i get any more info.

Regards

Steve

I think Steve's right, especially if you could get it for a bit less than advertised. It needs a full new frame clearly but IIRC D-Go sells them for 6-7k so long as it sustained no damage on it's way over the pond I think it's a reasonable project.

Even from the exterior photos I can see thousands worth of bits to replace, though? New fascias, radiator, louvres, right wing, left 3/4 panel is *torn* somehow... I think they'd have to come down a lot more than that, and they weren't super willing to negotiate when I spoke to them. That rusted automatic hasn't moved in 4 months but the price hasn't dropped.
