Museum Deloreans - Dangermouse - 24 Feb 2010 By my estimation there are at least 19 Deloreans currently in museums round the world but I am sure there are more. Have I missed any in the UK? Are they still at these museums? (I am running this thread on a few forums to pick up the most info) Re: Museum Deloreans - Stuart Rees - 25 Feb 2010 Hi Dermot, There is a Delorean in the Haynes Museum In Sparkford, Somerset. Also there are the 2 BTTF D's in the 'cars of the stars' museum In Keswick, Cumbria - one is a mock up with no engine and the other used to be in a US museum - both are reasonably poor replicas. Not sure on the VINs. Stu The Haynes DeLorean still on US plates... Re: Museum Deloreans - Rich Hanlon - 25 Feb 2010 If I recall correctly the Ulster folk and transport museum also has a full scale fibreglass Delorean design mockup, and an original black resin body-tub. Re: Museum Deloreans - Dangermouse - 25 Feb 2010 Stuart Rees Wrote:Hi Dermot,Thanks, do you know if the mock up is a real D (i.e. with a vin plate) or just a collection of parts? Re: Museum Deloreans - Stuart Rees - 25 Feb 2010 Dangermouse Wrote:Thanks,Not sure, I remember reading somewhere that it was built up from parts, someone in England was commissioned by Universal to make it to promote the release of BTTF3. Here's another, does anyone know where this one is or the VIN? Re: Museum Deloreans - Chris P - 25 Feb 2010 Dave Howarth has chapter and verse on the BTTF 3 replica. Re: Museum Deloreans - JohnC - 26 Feb 2010 Universal Studio's in Los Angeles have 3. John C Re: Museum Deloreans - Barson - 27 Feb 2010 am i speaking out of turn if i say that that BTTF 3 replica is the foulest thing I've ever seen? Re: Museum Deloreans - Barson - 28 Feb 2010 I'll post an update later today thanks for your interest! going steady slow but steady. Re: Museum Deloreans - Flex - 28 Feb 2010 I found an article the other day claiming that the BTTF Delorean in Cornwall is Gary Weaver II's replica. Bought (with a heavy mark up, I believe) from the guy who originally purchased it from Gary via eBay. I know Gary is a member on the forums, just checking if this is correct? Has anyone been to see it? I wouldn't mind going to see the most screen accurate Delorean Time Machine replica ever built (at least until Gary finishes his second!). For those not familiar with Gary's work, check out the recently re-opened (thank god!) http://www.bttfparts.com, and its forums. Re: Museum Deloreans - Stuart Rees - 01 Mar 2010 Hi Matt, Is this the article you mean. http://normantranscript.com/local/x4685 ... ifications If it was bought by the goldsmith guy for that amount, he definitely has more money than sense! This must be why a couple of owners are trying to get $60K to $70K for their time machines in the states. Re: Museum Deloreans - Flex - 01 Mar 2010 Yup thats the one. I found it in passing and couldn't find it again when I made the post. Unbelievable amount of money. Although I doubt there's a closer replica out there - Gary used casts of screen used parts to make most of the parts on it. I bet if you took the cost of labour into account its about right! Re: Museum Deloreans - dmcscott2002 - 03 Mar 2010 The Cornish Goldsmiths one was bought from the states and restored in Jersey. I got the chance to have a ride in it several years ago. It was sold as being from the films but I don't think it was however it was a damn good copy. All the time circuits worked properly and it had alot of really authentic features such as the a working plutonium chember with a plutonium prop tube that twisted and allowed the plutonium stick to drop into the chamber! I'll dig out some photos... Re: Museum Deloreans - Flex - 03 Mar 2010 Quote:It was sold as being from the filmsThat explains why it sold for so much! Cheeky g*t passing off someone else's work as screen used. The working plutonium prop is a dead give away that it's Gary's: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=BTTFParts#p/u/6/zKK-tMXcCAc |
